Played my 6th round of golf here and absolutely love it. The mountain scenery is gorgeous, the greens are almost in season shape, you get a great combination of open space and narrow holes. It is a little expensive but worth the price. Driving range is all grass. No practice bunkers. Very challenging even from the White tees, make sure your driver is on point! I dare you to birdie the 5th hole from the white tees. Good luck!

Beautiful course, love the Mountain views and the fairways are immaculate. One of my favorite spots, not to mention Crozet is such a cool little town right outside of Charlottesville so you’re never far away from anything.
One of my favorite public golf courses in Central Virginia right now. Amazing views of the mountains and the course layout is Rolling Hills next to Farms, neighborhoods, and nature. One hole is even next to an alpaca Farm which is pretty memorable. Additionally the course is in good shape with gray Rolling Greens and I love azoiza grass Fairways and tee boxes!
I can’t speak to club facilities or services because I have always played later in the day (after 4:00) when, I assume, some regular staff’s shifts have ended As for golf alone, I can say this: Old Trail has absolutely incredible zoysia fairways with lovely greens and fringe to match; Keep your ball in play and every fairway lie feels perfect. Bunkers always appear to have been freshly groomed. New, well-located toilet facilities along the course are a nice touch. I have not played many courses, but I do know that If a great round of golf is your objective, I can’t imagine being disappointed playing here. It’s not the cheapest, nor is it the priciest, and I plan to return as often as I am able.

We went on a Sunday for brunch and is probably the most delicious brunch food I ever had!!!!! Kudos to the kitchen staff!! And the view and atmosphere is amazing!
Just played Old Trail for the 1st time on 11/11/19 and what a gem of a course! Beautiful setting, fun/fair layout, and the course conditions were outstanding! Most tee boxes were bent grass, fairways zoysia (of course gone dormant but still provided near perfect lies, cannot wait to try in the summer), rough seemed to be some form of bluegrass and still green which framed the dormant fairways nicely... and the bent greens were just fantastic! If you’re in the area and thinking about playing, do not hesitate playing this track!
